Virginia Capital Partners (VCP) is a private investment firm that invests in profitable, rapidly growing private companies in the South Atlantic.  We typically invest in companies that are valued between $5 million and $50 million.  Our team provides patient capital for accelerated growth.  We have invested in a variety of service companies across a wide spectrum of industries. 

We are pure growth investors.  Our portfolio companies use our capital to significantly expand the scope and size of their operations.  From acquisitions to greenfield development, our capital provides companies the opportunity to substantially grow the value of their enterprise. VCP manages a $50 million pool of capital.  VCP’s investors include BB&T, Bank of America, Wachovia, American Electric Power and other major corporations.

We have partnered with entrepreneurs in more than twenty rapidly growing companies, creating cumulative enterprise value in excess of $1 billion.  Collectively, our portfolio would represent one of the largest privately held companies in the South Atlantic region with more than 2,000 employees, $500 million in revenues and more than $550 million in assets.

We are typically the first institutional investor in our portfolio companies.  As such, we are happy to work without a business plan (or any written documentation), audited financial statements or projections.  We do all of our own work which enables us to move quickly and preserve confidentiality.

Our managing partners are substantial investors in our funds.  We think like owners because we are owners.  We have a thorough understanding of the unique issues involved in operating service businesses and are dedicated to making our companies market-leading organizations over a number of years, not overnight.
